Free Domains .CO.CC and .CO.NR

If you have free blogs and it has a long, difficult to spell, and boring address then keep it that way. You may change it, but you will lose some of your loyal visitors. Just like this site jimbul.blogspot.com. I think that's short enough for a free blog address. What's yours?

We can actually redirect our blog address from another domains. And I'm talking about free domains. These are my review.

.co.cc
.co.nr

I changed (not actually changed) my domains to jimbul.co.cc or jimbul.co.nr for FREE. Interested?

So check this out.

yourname.CO.CC
1. Signup to .co.cc (my referral link)
2. Enter your NEW domain name in the .co.cc box. Then check the availability.
3. Not all of the domain that you want will be free. So think about something that people would easily remember but it's not worthy. Like my name "jimbul", it's free... hahah!
4. Finish the registration steps, then go to setup -> URL Forwarding.
5. Enter your (blogger or wordpress) BLOG address. And arrange the meta tags, description, etc.
7. Done!

yourname.CO.NR
1. Signup to Freedomain .co.nr here (not a ref link)
2. Enter your NEW domain .co.nr
3. Finish the registration
4. Don't forget the activataion code that will be sent to your registration email.
5. Copy the activation code to the activation domain, then enter your username (your NEW .co.cc address) and your password.
6. Done!
7. You must place their banner in your website."The button link MUST be clearly visible on the very FIRST page of your web site".

Don't forget to read carefully their Terms of Services (ToS)!

PS. Redirecting from another websites takes a bit longer than the usual address.

Blogging for A Starter

Start Blogging

I will give a simple explanation about blogging for a starter. You don't even know what "blogging" means? Go googling. That's what I did back then. I didn't even know the difference about blog and a website. So someday people like me may googling and find this article that (I hope) useful for them.

What does blogging mean?
Blogging means managing a blog and constantly writting (posting) articles about ANYTHING you want. And also it's something FREE! Like it?

What's your purpose in blogging?
This is the first thing that you must decide. Just killing time! I like WRITTING! I want to SHARE my experiences. I want to SELL something. I want to PROMOTE my company and my products. I want to MAKE MONEY! etc. Then you must decide one of this site that will host your blog.

Wordpress or Blogger?
These are the two giants in blog hosting (as far as I know).

1. Wordpress
Wordpress.com is a popular blog host. Why? Because they have a lot of users, fast access, user-friendly, professional, and they also have a FREE membership. That means free blogs for you. You can also choose and edit (a little) with your blog templates.
You can fulfill your purposes in blogging (that you have decided before) except MAKING MONEY ONLINE. For this you must have a paid membership so you can change everything and place ads (for example).
So the best thing from wordpress is FAST. Your blog address will be yourname.wordpress.com.

2. Blogger
If I call Wordpress with a popular blog host, then I call Blogger.com as a COOL blog host. It's completely free and completely CUSTOMIZABLE. You can change anything including templates with HTML. So you can place ads (from adsense, adbrite, etc) or place anything else here. So you can make money with advertisement like Google Adsense and Adbrite.
Although Wordpress has a faster access, Blogger has another advantages.
When you first signing up with Blogger.com, you will find out that there's only a few templates provided by Blogger.com, but the internet world has a lot more. You can install them to your Blogger blogs. Cool isn't it? I got this templates from Mr. Jacky Supit, but his website has been sold. I'll update you if I found a good templates for blogger.
Your blog address will be yourname.blogspot.com.

After you have decided and signing up with one of these blog host. Then start posting! That's the most important thing in blogging. You will have to learn just a little about html. But don't worry, these blog host have provided us with their user-friendly contro panel. Less html you need to worry about. But still html is a worth thing to learn.

Choose your templates! To get a better looking blog, add widgets to your blog.

Publish! And see what your blog look like!
Have fun!

Opera Mini - Mobile Internet Browser

Opera Mini is the best internet browser for mobile phone I ever have. I’m using operamini 3 b’cuz my N6020 has a very limited memory. OperaMini will compress all the data streaming so the pages will become small. The less byte you’ve accessed the less cost you’ll pay. So, browsing internet using Opera Mini from your mobile phone is very cheap. Opera Mini 4 has new features. Better scrolling, navigation, page rendering, and also landscape view. With landscape view you’ll have a better experience in browsing. Opera Mini also has a virtual mouse that you can move around with your keypad.

So far, I haven’t tried another mobile browser yet so I can’t compare this application with other browser, but I think Opera Mini is cool enough. I can’t find any disadvantages of this freeware. B’cuz all the bad experience in mobile browsing always caused by my oldbuddy and bad connection from my cell phone provider.
I give 4.5 from 5 stars. . Check on my favourite website for mobile application for the download or more info about this: www.getjar.com. Or directly from the most trusted source, the company website itself: http://operamini.com.

Flurry - Free mobile email and rss

This tiny application is quite cool. I can read and reply email from my email account with my oldbuddy, N6020. You have a lot better cellphone than mine? So it should work better i think. Basically, Flurry is another bus stop for your daily email and rss. If you are travelling or mobile with your mobile phone and went to places that do not have internets or Wifi, so flurry is your answer for email and rss. It works if there's a signal in your cellphone. Though a better signal means better GPRS connection and worse signal means worse GPRS connection. And sometimes in a remote places where you can't connect to the internet at all, that's called 'out of luck'. So what's the benefits? I'm tired on counting the benefits, let's just number it:

  1. Like I said in this post title: Flurry - Free mobile email and rss.
  2. Supports Gmail, Yahoo!, Hotmail, AOL, all POP3 and IMAP accounts, and any RSS feed. That's what they said.
  3. They compressed the incoming emails. So you don't have to worry the GPRS charges. More benefits in fees reduction.
  4. The 3rd word in this post title: Flurry - Free mobile and rss. You can do email everywhere.
  5. Easy to use and user friendly (my opinion).
It work nice with my oldbuddy. I give 3 from 5 stars for this. Check on my favourite website for mobile application for the download or more info about this: www.getjar.com.

Mig33 - Mobile chat community

This is another free mobile chat. But I tell you what... This application is great. If you like chatting but don't have community in IMs or another chat services, that's fine. Mig33 already has a huge communities. You can browse for chatrooms and join it. While you're chatting with members in a chatroom you can add them just by entering their nickname or username in add friends menu. You don't need phone number or email address, just their username. After they accept your invitation, their name would appear in your contactlists, so you can do private chat with them easily. Your contactlists will always appear when you log in to mig33. You can see user's profile too in mig33. Mig33 also gives credit bonuses when you register (in AUD$ and I forgot how much is it) and when you invite your non-mig33 members. This is great and very easy to use.

So, the above paragraph is the benefits. So, what's the bad things in mig33? Because they already have a huge number of communities, mig33 runs a little slow. It's crowded, and sometimes errors occured. There's a lot bad user too that often flood a chatroom. And since mig33 has a user kicker, so they often play games by kicking another users out of a chatroom. It's not a healthy chat but it's fun. So when you join a chatroom you must be careful at what you saying. When there's someone voting for your kick, you must runaway as fast as you can. I mean, get out of that chatroom rightaway. Cuz when you're kicked you can't join that chatroom again for hours. I give 4.5 from 5 stars. Check on my favourite website for mobile application for the download or more info about this: www.getjar.com.

MXit - Free mobile chat

This is the best mobile chat ever. The different with mig33 is, you can't browse for chatroom in MXit. You must create a chat community by yourself or joining your friends. What I meant with the word "community" is who do you chat with? or people on your contactlists. You can add them by entering their phone number. So MXit is restricted in a certain area: people that you know. Of course, cuz you need to know their phone number. But I tell you what.. MXit is great. It runs so fast, so cheap, so easy to use and when your contact are offline you can still send them a message. They will receive it when they're online. So, you can do offline chat. MXit also has fun status, emoticons, and with a new version of MXit you can do more. You can establish a group chat and kidnapp people that are online. You can send vibrating tone to your online friends (like a buzz in YM). New Mxit has more free skins and emoticons.

It's really-really cheap. I only have Rp. 300,00 left on my credit (that's US$ 0.03) and i still can do chatting for hours. In my country, MXit has a lot of fans because of they low consumption of bytes and the fastness. Mostly, they are teenagers or college guys. But some of the people I know use this to chat with their friends or family abroad. My friend could chat a whole day. He never turned off this application. But the bad thing is: you can only chat with people that you already know their phone number. But that's fine, so you can do a safe and healthy chat. Just download it, register, and tell your friends or girlfriends or family to do the same way. After that add them to create your own community.

Download Instructions
The thing is, you can't download MXit in getjar.
  1. Browse it on their official website wap.mxit.co.za or www.mxit.co.za/wap with your phone browser.
  2. They will automatically detect your phone type. If they don't, choose and select a similar phone type with yours.
  3. Follow the download step. After you've finished, quit browser.
  4. Open MXit application and start register.
  5. Remember! When entering your phone number, use international code (without +). Example: my phone number is 08123456789 and my country code is +62 (Indonesia) so I enter 628123456789.
  6. Turn on autologin and remember password options to make it easier for you next time you log in.
  7. Log in, and start adding your friends that have already install MXit too.
  8. Now you can chat with them. Have Fun!
And now, cuz MXit has developed so greatly.. They finally release their MXit chat in PC version. No more hurt fingers or thumbs. You can chat directly with your PC or laptop. See this page for download. It's just 6.33 Mb. Have Fun!

Bing - IM on your phone

If you already have friends on IMs like Yahoo Messenger, GTalk, AIM, ICQ, and MSN so this application might be a good solution for your mobile chat. IMs has built communities for people since long time ago. And I think, they still have a huge members in worldwide chat. Bing provides connection to IMs server to your cellphone. You don't need laptop or PDA just a cellphone with a GPRS connection in it. And it's also free. I only review for free mobile application. It means they're free for download and free for use. But remember, you do have to pay charges for GPRS connection which is very cheap. Depend on what use. Just for chat? You'll found out that it feels like doesn't cost anything at all (though it does have cost actually). So what's the benefits? Check this out:

  1. FREE to download and use anytime anywhere.
  2. Connect with MSN, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo & Gtalk on your mobile.
  3. You can add your friend
  4. You can establish a group chat
  5. Fun status and emoticons
My oldbuddy likes it. But I don't have a quite great communities in IMs so I give 3 from 5 stars. Check on my favourite website for mobile application for the download or more info about this: www.getjar.com.
